Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 May 2026 · Applies to Pipes.Run desktop, cloud, and the marketing site at pipes.run

The short version. You buy a perpetual license for the desktop app — yours forever, no subscription. Pipes.Run Cloud is an optional monthly subscription that runs your pipelines on our infrastructure. You can get a full refund within 30 days, no questions asked. You're responsible for what your pipelines do (e.g. respecting the terms of the sites you scrape). We'll do our honest best to keep the service running and your data safe.

1. Agreement

By purchasing a license, creating a Pipes.Run Cloud account, or using the desktop app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you're using Pipes.Run on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

2. The two products

Pipes.Run is offered in two parts that are sold independently:

  • Pipes.Run Desktop — a perpetual license to use the desktop application. One-time fee, currently $99.
  • Pipes.Run Cloud — an optional monthly subscription to run your pipelines on our servers. Currently $19/month. Requires a Desktop license to use.

3. Pipes.Run Desktop license

Subject to your payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the Pipes.Run desktop app on up to three devices you personally control. The license key issued to you is the proof of that grant — don't share it.

You may:

  • Install and use the app on up to three of your devices.
  • Use the app for personal or commercial purposes.
  • Export your pipelines (they're YAML files) and use them however you like — they're yours.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or lease the app.
  • Reverse engineer or modify the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices.
  • Use the app to violate any law or another party's rights.

Updates released in the first 12 months after purchase are included. After that, continued updates require a renewal at the then-current rate (currently $49/year). Your existing version keeps working forever — you never lose access to what you bought.

4. Pipes.Run Cloud subscription

Pipes.Run Cloud is a monthly subscription that runs your pipelines on cloud infrastructure on your behalf. Your subscription includes 10,000 cloud pipeline runs per calendar month; runs beyond that may be throttled or billed at a published overage rate (we'll notify you in advance).

You may cancel any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period — we don't pro-rate partial months. Your data is retained per the Privacy Policy and deleted on request.

5. Refunds

30-day, no-questions refund. Email hello@pipes.run within 30 days of your purchase and we'll process a full refund within 24 hours. This applies to both Desktop licenses and the first month of a Cloud subscription.

6. Your responsibilities

You're responsible for what your pipelines do. Pipes.Run is a generic automation tool — what you point it at is your call. In particular:

  • You must comply with the terms of service of any third-party site, API, or LLM provider your pipelines interact with.
  • You must have the legal right to process any personal data your pipelines handle.
  • You may not use Pipes.Run to send spam, scrape behind logins you don't own, evade rate limits, or commit fraud.
  • You're responsible for the safety of your own destination databases — we don't back them up.

7. Intellectual property

We own Pipes.Run (the app, the marketing site, the cloud service, and all related code, branding, and documentation). You own everything you create with it — your pipelines, your transforms, the data those pipelines write to your destinations.

The pipeline YAML format is open and documented. You can take your pipelines and run them anywhere; we have no claim to them.

8. Disclaimers

The app and the cloud service are provided "as is". We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output of any LLM-driven step will be accurate. Verify results before relying on them — especially for grounded chat outputs, where the underlying language model may hallucinate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement).

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data.

Some jurisdictions don't allow this kind of limitation, in which case the limits apply to the maximum extent allowed.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service (e.g. a third party suing us because of what your pipeline did to their site).

11. Termination

You can stop using the service any time. For Cloud, cancel from your dashboard. The Desktop app keeps working perpetually under your license unless that license is revoked for cause (e.g. you violate these Terms, you initiate a chargeback, you redistribute the app).

We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms, with notice when feasible. If we terminate without cause we'll refund any pre-paid Cloud period.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York. You and we both consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

If you're a consumer in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, those laws still apply to the extent required.
